Who are we?

Faces of War is a new reenactment group consisting of members from the Netherlands and Belgium. Founded by Marijn Scheele. After the Market Garden celebrations in Son in 2025, the plan to form our own group became a reality. In just a few months, we were able to expand to a group of 10+ members, and we’re eager to expand further.

We portray both American and British units, and once a year we hold a (private) German event for our members who wish to participate. As Americans, we portray various units, so we don’t limit ourselves to a specific portrayal. We’re eager to participate in many events and gain a wealth of knowledge.

Regarding the British theme, we’re definitely working hard to expand our range. Depictions will include British Airborne, British Expeditionary Force (BEF), and regular infantry. This doesn’t mean we’re asking our members to purchase dozens of uniforms, but we’re looking at what’s feasible for everyone so we can still have as many people as possible at an event.
However, we do ensure everything is as accurate as possible.
Our goal is to commemorate the people who contributed to the liberation of Europe during the war. We owe everything to them.
